Hi! This is me and
my little intern Ames😍

I am a self-taught visual designer who, a few years ago, decided to leave the previous occupation as a photographer and pursue full-time designing. After wandering around this planet I finally settled down in Rotterdam.

My journey

In 2007 I “bought” my first Photoshop CS2. I had limited image collection to work with, due to the bad internet. In Ps I was “tuning” cars, painting the walls of my room, and changing the eyes color for friends. Trust me, it’s better if I don’t show those “artworks”.
Most importantly, I developed some skills and fell in love with the tool and its capabilities!

Like I mentioned, I didn’t have images to play with in PS, so I decided to go out and take some with my phone. Now I fell in love with photography,
and this little maneuver’s gonna cost me 9 years.

7 years later, I landed my first real
photography job. I get to cruise the World on a massive ship! Mexico, Aruba, Colombia,  Costa-Rica, Nicaragua,  Alaska, San Francisco and Hawaii were all my offices . How’s that for remote working!?

I was shooting portraits of ship’s passengers, and also creating ship’s stock images collection. I visited amazing places and met wonderful people.
Fast-forward 7 years later, I landed my first real
photography job. I get to go to Miami and from there cruised the world on a massive ship! Mexico, Aruba, Colombia, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Canada, Alaska, San Francisco, LA, and Hawaii were all my offices that I was changing almost daily! How’s that for remote working!?

My job was to shoot, edit and print portraits of the ship’s passengers, and I was also responsible for creating the ship’s stock images collection. I was very lucky to experience Northern Lights, calving Glaciers, and Orca whales jumping around the boat, and to feature images of those instances in the collection. In my free time, I would surf and swim in the most beautiful places.
I met wonderful people and made friends for life.

After 2 years on the ships, it was time to settle on the land. I moved to Berlin for love. Honestly, I struggled with the visa and language, but the reason I was there overpowered those struggles. I start picking up my steps with Graphic design and start freelancing again.

For an adventure, we moved to sunny Malta! With the lack of creative jobs, I accepted a hotel job, continued freelancing in design and photography, and we also launched our clothing brand Danarko! I was proudly named the creative director of the company!
I decided to commit 100% to design, and after 9 years and many adventures with the camera, I switched from photography back to design and closed the circle.
For an adventure, we moved to sunny Malta for a year!
With the lack of creative jobs and, in general, very limited opportunities on a tiny island, I accepted a hotel job, continued freelancing in design and photography next to it, and we also launched our clothing brand Danarko! I was proudly named a creative director of the company!

This year I started learning more design tools and decided to go full-time design and leave photography as a hobby. Like I said before, I was sidetracked for 9 years and traveled the world with the camera, but here I am closing the circle and I am 100% back to visual design.

I continued freelancing for various clients while improving my design skills and attending courses. I start working at Conversation24 (an online communications scale-up) as a graphic designer for the in-house marketing agency! My first real design job! I was creating banner ads for the agency’s clients, and infographics and social media posts for the company. I was also part of the in-house team that worked on the re-branding of the company.
We moved to Rotterdam and decided not to move anymore. And why would we, R’dam is super cool, right?

I continued freelancing for various clients while improving my design skills and attending courses.
I start working at Conversation24, an online communications scale-up. Within the company, there was a marketing agency and I start working there as a graphic designer! My first real design job! I was also part of the in-house team that worked on the re-branding of the company.

It was a challenging year for all of us, what else to say.

But it gets better!
We got our baby boy Ames in December!
I parted ways with Conversation24 and focused on spending as much time as possible our son.

Spending  time with our little boy is the most precious thing in the World! But it is time to get back on track. I am learning new skills and tools and strengthening the old ones, and looking forward to my future position.
